Jean Pierre Roma was an ambitious entrepreneur and proprietor who brought settlers and convict labourers to carve an international trading empire out of the virgin forests of 1700s Isle St Jean. Maker of the Island's first roads, builder of a thriving community at Trois Rivieres (Brudenell Point), he saw all his accomplishments destroyed by privateers in 1745.
